Reviews . . .
Fiddling Demystified is imbued with the joy and delight of the fiddle and Donna’s irrepressible joie de vivre, backed by her years of thought and experience. Donnq gets it all right, as far as I’m concerned. A cornucopia of technical and stylistic details flood the book, along with stories replete with local and universal cultural context. All the information points you toward the goal of fiddling: Get in there and crank that rhythm!” – String improvisation wizard Darol Anger in his Foreword to Fiddling Demystified
This is a treasure trove, with tremendous value far beyond what I paid. The book itself is wonderful, an excellent collection of tunes, with everything meticulously transcribed and explained in the text. The CD’s though, really blew me away. You explain not just the tunes, but also other ornamentations and techniques that give the music character. This is unique, amazing, and an incredibly valuable gift to aspiring fiddlers! Please get busy on volume two. I’ll buy the first copy!” Wayne Fugate, mandolin player, musical cast member of “Bright Star” on Broadway.
